Applying to the Executive Board
Eligibility
To serve in an Executive Board position, you must meet the following requirements:
* Special representative positions are reserved for a current North Mecklenburg student, as well as a current Faculty member. For more information, please view the NMHSAA bylaws.
Board Responsibilities
Being a Director of the Executive Board is a big responsibility and time commitment. We are only interested in members that have the time to devote to our ongoing projects. Please read through this list carefully to decide whether you are able to make these commitments.
If you are interested in helping, but don't think you can devote yourself to being a Director, please consider joining a committee. If you feel comfortable excepting these responsibilities, please apply for any vacant Board position.
Application Process
If you meet the eligibility requirements, and there are open positions on the Board (click here to view open positions), the next step is applying. To apply, you will need to download and print the application. Click here. After you have filled out the application, drop it in the mail to NMHSAA P.O. Box 655, Huntersville, NC 28070.
Application Information
There will be no restriction on the number of terms a Director may serve. At the conclusion of each term, the vacating Director must reapply for the position. All positions on the Executive Board deemed vacant, shall be posted on the website for a period of four weeks. All applications will be reviewed fairly and without bias.
A simple majority vote by the nominating committee meeting quorum (See Section 3.9) will be sufficient to elect all members excluding the Director of Finance and the Legal Advisor. For these positions, the vote of the Nominating Committee will be considered a recommendation. A final majority vote of the Executive Board, including Board Members who are vacating said position, is required.
No person meeting the eligibility requirements will be restricted from membership because of age, race, creed, color, gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, national origin, ancestry, marital status, arrest record, or conviction record. The NMHSAA Executive Board strives to achieve a representation of graduating classes, gender, and race to best represent the alumni of North Meck High School.
